I love a good character cake! They’re seriously so fun for me. This cake was a 1/2 sheet rainbow sprinkle cake topped with my not too sweet vanilla buttercream, and of course an adorable cartoon Green Line train. A fun birthday cake for a sweet family 🥰

This cake was a hobby inspired birthday cake for a repeat client (and friend) who’s husband loves Snoopy, music, the Red Sox and his classic car. It was so much fun brainstorming a way to make these all work together. The cake itself was a 6” Egg-free chocolate cake with a cookies and cream filling topped with a vanilla buttercream, perfect for the chocolate lover in your life!

This was a challenging yet fun cake to make. Each element, except for the rainbow, was hand crafted with fondant by me. I used to be so fearful of working with fondant, but now I love it! It’s like edible adult Playdoh 😅

Still buzzing and feeling so inspired from this night! This was by far the most ambitious cake I’ve don’t yet, but wow getting a chance to be this creative was sooo fun! Two tiers of pistachio cake, filled with raspberry compote and pistachio ganache, topped with my signature not too sweet buttercream. So good 🤤

This was such a fun order, and my first venture into cookie cakes! My daughter recently started watching Gabby’s dollhouse too, and loves it, so I definitely had plenty of inspiration for this one. It’s a classic Chocolate Chip cookie made into cake form with my signature buttercream on top.

This Hello Kitty cake was a 6inch Chocolate Cake with Cookies and Crème filling topped with Vanilla Buttercream. I made the bow out of fondant and ears out of white chocolate. Elsa has officially entered the chat! This was soooo much fun to make and by far the most challenging cake I’ve ever made, but I loved the challenge! Thankful for sweet friends that trust the vision. I free handed each character out of fondant and made the ice castle shards out of white chocolate. The cake itself was an 8” white cake with Raspberry compote and Vanilla Buttercream. So tasty 😋

I’ve found that I really love making characters! I love trying to mimic their expressions and getting lost in the process of molding them. It’s like playing with adult playdoh. So, if you know of anyone that’s little one is obsessed with a character and they would love a sweet treat to match for an upcoming birthday - send them my way! 🥰

Hi everyone! There are so many new faces around here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself, and share a little bit about me since it’s been forever since I did. I can’t believe there’s over 200 of you here on my little slice of the internet! If you’re new here, hi I’m Stephany and thank you so much for following along on my journey with Oak + Barter ❤️

The last get to know me post I shared was from 2021 and WOW life has changed so much since then! Phew, I honestly wish I could give that girl a hug 😅

Baking and sharing with others has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Years of self doubt and imposter syndrome kept me from pursuing my dreams for so long, but having my daughter really motivated me to go for it and not give in to the doubt and fear. I would want the same for her, so why not myself right!? It’s crazy how we can think things about ourselves that we would never about others, but anywho’s here are 5 random facts about me.

1.) I’m a transplant from North Carolina, and have lived here for over 4 years now!
2.) I LOVE reading. So much so, that I started a local book club with some amazing fellow mamas. I tend to stay within my spicy fantasy niche tho 👀
3.) I have a new found love for video games! They take me forever to finish, but Assassin’s Creed Origins has been one of my favorite games I’ve ever played.
4.) I consider myself an extroverted introvert.
5.) I have an amazing daughter that inspires me everyday. She’s truly my little bestie and I’m so grateful that this business allows me to still be home with her all of the time. She’s my everything ❤️

Why I started baking - My Grandma ♥️

Growing up, when I was with my Grandma it always felt like we were in the kitchen. Whether we were cooking a meal, prepping some veggies from the garden, making a cake, pie, cookies, researching recipes (out of her over 100 cookbooks), or just sitting at the kitchen table talking. It was our space. I still bake with her aprons and old recipes. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her, so thank you Grams, miss you everyday ♥️
